Samsung uses ten different door locks. Here is how to tell which you need<\/b><\/h2>\n

This is the question every spare parts site avoids. Samsung fits at least ten distinct interlocks across its washing machine range. DC34-00025D, DC34-00026A, DC34-00028A, DC34-00028B, DC64-00519D, DC64-00652D, DC64-00653A, DC64-01538A, DC64-02032A and DC97-19401A, and they are not interchangeable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Work through these four in order:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Read the emz type number on your old lock.<\/b> Samsung’s locks are made by emz, and every one carries an emz type reference moulded or printed on the body, 854, 857, 881, 888 and so on. This is the fastest and most reliable identifier. Ours is <\/span>888.4<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Count and check the terminals.<\/b> This unit has three, numbered 1, 2 and 3. Some Samsung locks use a different count or different markings.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Check the Samsung DC number<\/b> on your machine’s rating plate, inside the door frame or behind the filter flap.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Compare the actuator and mounting.<\/b> The lever position, the square aperture and the mounting hole pattern must match your original.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Samsung part numbers – what we can and cannot confirm<\/b><\/h2>\n

    We publish what we can verify. Samsung part <\/span>DC34-00028A<\/b> is catalogued as replacing emz reference <\/span>T65888.1,<\/b>\u00a0the same 888 series as this component. The sub-variant differs, and we have not independently confirmed that 888.4 and 888.1 interchange.<\/span><\/p>\n

    So rather than print a part number we cannot stand behind: send us a photo of your old lock and we will tell you whether this is the correct replacement. If it is not, we stock other Samsung interlocks and will point you to the right one.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The interlock tells the control board the door is shut and holds it shut while the drum turns. Nothing starts until its contacts close, no fill, no wash, no spin.<\/span><\/p>\n

    It works by a PTC thermal element rather than a solenoid. Power reaches the element, it heats and expands, and the latch drives home. At the end of the cycle the power is cut and the element must cool before the latch releases, which is why a Samsung front loader keeps the door shut for a short period after the programme ends. That delay is designed behaviour, not a fault.<\/span><\/p>\n
