In the science and technology sector, nondestructive testing (NDT) refers to a broad range of analytical methods used to assess a material’s, component’s, or system’s qualities without causing harm. It can be somewhat overwhelming to choose from the wide variety of cleaning techniques, tools, and cleaner solutions available.

Modern industrial cleaning solutions can be found in ASV NDT Cleaners Industrial Strength, particularly in the WC1, WC2, and WC3 versions. These products are engineered to function exceptionally well in tough industrial conditions through the use of modern technologies and sturdy formulas. The ASV NDT Cleaners Industrial Strength series sets high standards for efficiency, effectiveness, and safety, making them essential tools for preserving cleanliness and productivity in a wide range of industrial applications.

It includes:

  1. ASV WC 1 Cleaner
  2. ASV Red Penetrant WC 2
  3. Developer for ASV WC 3

ASV WC 1 Cleaner

  • Extremely low chlorine and sulfur levels.
  • Quick to penetrate as well as evaporate.
  • Speeds up equipment cleaning and removes any residue.
  • Efficiently removes oil, grease, silicones, oxides, and other light impurities from delicate machine parts and electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Extends the equipment’s wear life.
  • Excellent dielectric strength.
  • Non-corrosive and non-staining.
  • Reduces the electrical resistance when there is contact.

ASV WC1 is a fast-acting, heavy-duty cleaner/degreaser for mechanical and electrical components that is non-conductive and non-flammable. Its exceptional high-powered cleaning action quickly enters small cracks and crevices to loosen oils, greases, moisture, and other light pollutants.

Utilization

Cleaner and penetrant remover can be employed for electrical equipment, including motors, terminals, circuit breakers, plugs, sockets, transformers, switchgear, bearings, generators, gears, tuners, and busbars.

Advantages

Compared to flammable cleansers, ASV WC1 has the clear advantage of having no flash point, which increases usage safety, allows equipment to be utilized more quickly, and prevents expensive downtime. Neither 1,1,1 Trichloroethane nor CFCs are present in it.

It reduces the electrical resistance when there is contact and enhances equipment performance and reliability by preventing corona discharges, short circuits, arcing, tracking, and intermittent equipment failure. The cleaner is safe for the majority of metals, rubbers, polymers, and insulators. It has a 360° valve that enables the product to be sprayed in any orientation, even upside down.

Instructions For Use

The surface needs to be thoroughly dried, cleaned and degreased. It is necessary to remove all prior impurities, including dirt, dust, rust, grease, and oil. Pre-clean the parts or surfaces to be examined using ASV WC 1 Cleaner & Penetrant Remover Spray. You can use an extension tube for hard-to-reach regions. Heavy oxides and other deposits can be removed with a brush or an abrasive. Begin spraying from the top and end at the bottom. Give pieces a thorough spray and let them soak. Wipe with an absorbent towel if necessary, then let everything dry entirely.

It is better to apply it on plastics and test a small area with the cleaner before use.

Reliable, consistent test results depend on the cleaning you use before, during, and after your non-destructive testing procedure. A cleaner specifically made for use with liquid penetrant testing or magnetic particle inspection should be used.

ASV provides a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) cleansers that are safe to use on various metal and non-metal surfaces, biodegradable, and especially good at removing rust inhibitors, cutting fluids, penetrant, developer, and mag particles.

        1. The benefit of the WC2 red penetrant is that the product is affordable and practical without requiring expensive or complex equipment.
        2. It is free of hazardous chemicals or substances that deplete the ozone layer, as well as free of CFCs and chlorinated solvents.

      ASV WC 2 Red Penetrant

          • Water-based fluorescent penetrant.
          • Clear indicators are outstanding.
          • Low background noise levels.

Metals, glass, and other non-porous materials can all have surface faults that can be found with dye penetrant inspection. The penetrant is drawn into the open defect by capillary action, which powers the process. This procedure is more complex than it first seems because the penetrators can be visible or fluorescent, water washable, solvent removable, or post-emulsifiable in four sensitivity levels.

The liquid dye penetrant test systems in the ASV WC series are intended for non-destructive visual evaluation of surface imperfections. This procedure applies a colored visible dye solution to the test surface or object, which is then removed. Next, a white contrast blotting developer is applied, blotting the dye solution against a white background such that red spots or red lines identify any faults or flaws on the surface.

      Uses

          • They are applied to ceramics and metals.
          • Examine for defects and imperfections.

Instructions For Use

Shake the can of ASV WC 2 Red Penetrant, then spray a light, even coat onto the surface, letting them soak for ten to twenty minutes. After that, to remove the extra red penetrant, pre-moisten a cloth with ASV WC 1 Cleaner & Penetrant Remover and wipe the area.

ASV WC 3 Developer

  • Finds surface flaws on typical Ni-Cr Test panels as small as 1 micron in width and 30 microns in depth.
  • Very minimal levels of chlorine and sulfur.
  • Technology that is affordable and practical without requiring expensive or complex equipment.
  • ASV WC3 industrial strength packet offers quick, simple, efficient, and convenient media.

Instructions for Use

Shake the ASV WC 3 can Developer until the sound of the ball rattling within the can is audible. Apply light, even layers of spray paint to the surface while maintaining an 8–10 inch spacing.

Give it five to ten minutes to develop so that any flaws show. The red outline of cracks, pores, and flaws will show up as dots or lines on a white background.

Wrapping Up

FAQs:

Many industries utilize non-destructive testing, which is a useful method for assessing a material’s, component’s, structure’s, or system’s qualities without creating any harm.

In general, fluorescent penetrants are better at producing a noticeable signal from a little flaw.

Liquid or dye penetrant testing (PT) is a non-destructive material testing procedure that uses capillary forces to reveal surface fractures or pores. It detects surface faults like cracks, gaps, and porosity.
